My name is Vernon L. Price, and I am the son of Coll W. Price and Vilda Joyce Price of Defeated Creek, TN.. One Night at a revival meeting at east Carthage Missionary Baptist Church, where I was attending as an 11 year old Boy I heard the Gospel Preached and it pricked my heart. The man bringing the Gospel that night was Brother R. D. Brooks. I knew in my heart I was lost, I was troubled and sorrowed in my soul. So I went to the altar and I cried unto my Lord to save my soul, I don’t know How Long I was there, It seemed time didn’t matter then. I prayed and prayed and begged Him for mercy and then a Peace came over my soul, and I couldn’t pray anymore. That night my Lord and Savior saved my soul, He’s Been with me ever since and one day he will carry me home.
