And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Mat 16:18 (KJV)

Sister Kendra Leigh Nixon

Dear Reader,

My name is Kendra Leigh Nixon.  I’m fourteen years old and I would like to tell you my testimony.

When my parents split so did my religion.  For sometime I went to one church in Buffalo Valley all the people believed in a Pentecostal religion.  Till my Mom met a man named Mike Turnipseed I just went to that one church.  When my Mom and Mike started dating we started going to a new church Hartsville Missionary Baptist.  I started to wrm up to the people and my surroundings at the church but still as I went to my Grandmother’s church I still didn’t feel comfortable there.

When my Mother and Mike were married I started to realize right from wrong.  I still haven’t figured out if it was God or if I was just being punished more.  I was now starting to realize what some of the things that our preacher was saying.  But I still didn’t know what heaven or hell was and this is when I was only six years old.  If I only knew what two years from then had in store for me I probably would’ve ran somewhere and try to hide from GOD.

Two short years later I had my first experience with God it was on a Wednesday night at my Grandmother’s church.  The next day I went to Mike’s shop I kept bragging about how I almost got saved.  He sat down beside me and I told him about my experience.  He started to tell me that how there was no such thing as almost getting saved then my heart just sank.  We started talking about where I would go if I died right then and there.  Suddenly I understood that I never was told what would happen if I did die right then.  After that I realized that I had a heavy burden.  Mike asked me if I would like to pray.  We stopped by water fountain and in the blink of an eye I was saved.

I didn’t tell any one for about year something told if I told every one they would make fun of me.  So I didn’t tell till I saw some one else get saved at my first revival at Hartsville Missionary Baptist Church.

Even till this day I thank God for everything he has done for me.

THANK YOU LORD!!
